Special Edition Connecting Cities @ China

The Connecting Cities Network starts to collaborate with China and will present CCN projects in the framework of the Guangzhou International Festival of Lights 2015, the Asia Arts Festival in Quanzhou and at the Beijing Contemporary Art Center and the Chinese Pavillion at the 56th Venice Art Biennale.
Connecting Cities China is managed by Marc Piesbergen and curated by Susa Pop, director of Public Art Lab. Many thanks to the festival organisers Guangzhou Ruifeng Culture & Communication Company and the Beijing Contemporary Art Foundation and the participating artists who will be presented in the following.

Northbridge Piazza @ Perth

The Northbridge Piazza is home to Perth’s very first free outdoor movie theatre. Located in the heart of Northbridge, the Piazza grounds consist of the LED Superscreen, a multi-purpose community building, a versatile stage and a grassed area.

CONNECTING CITIES @ LIGHT FESTIVAL GUANGZHOU AND NORTHBRIDGE PIAZZA PERTH

In the frame of the Guangzhou Light Festival (China) there will be sharing screens between the Northbridge Piazza in Perth (Western Australia) and Guangzhou. From 13 – 29 November the project ‘Peoples Screen’ offers people in Guangzhou and Perth the opportunity to co-create chance encounters and spontaneous interaction between these two cities.

CONNECTING CITIES @ CITY VISIONS JENA FESTIVAL

This week finally starts the City Visions Jena Festival, which is initiated by Public Art Lab Berlin and therefore closely linked to several projects and workshops of the Connecting Cities Network.

It’s a new light- and science festival in Jena, in the state of Thüringen in Germany. From October 8-11, 2015 City Visions Jena invites everyone to explore the curatorial topic of ‚invisible and visible cities‘ in a vibrant light parcours.
