THE HIDDEN SOUND OF BANGKOK
NITHIPHAT HOISANGTHOG (Based in Bangkok)
THE HIDDEN SOUND OF BANGKOK
The Hidden Sound of Bangkok is one of the three winning projects of the Prototyping Lab in Bangkok “Live the City: Urban Media Project", organised by Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Public Art Lab (Berlin) and the Goethe-Institut Thailand, that took place in December 2015.
The project is inspired by the urgent need in industrial societies, focusing on Bangkok, to find solutions considering the water pollution. Specifically, the landscape has rapidly been converted in the last years from agricultural to industrial. The pollution and the degradation of the water in Bangkok has increased dramatically. This huge change to the city landscape and to the quality of water affects the psychology of the citizens.
Hidden Sound of Bangkok aims to raise awareness and call the inhabitants and the government authorities to act and find a solution to this problem. In order to achieve this, Nithiphat Hoisangthog uses a variety of media in public spaces in the centre of Bangkok.
The works will be displayed in the galleries with installation's art as a medium of a conversation that will lead to the experience of getting to know the other side of the concealed truth.
