Connecting Cities @ Media Facades Festival Helsinki, Lasipalatsi Square

The Connecting Cities Event #6 takes place during the Media Facades Festival Helsinki. MEDIA FACADES FESTIVAL is an urban media festival which brings media art for new audiences to discover, opens up new approaches to the city and experiments with media and technology in public space.
With the theme Participatory City, the Connecting Cities Event in Helsinki challenges our views to public participation. By engaging the local flora and fauna as participants, together with the signs, signals and networks our urban habitat is comprised of, the art projects present a “post-human” view to city life.
During the festival a media garden will be open at the Lasipalatsi Square 11 am to 2 am. You are welcome to enjoy a cup of raspberry tea while following the projects. All events are free of charge. For best festival experience, we recommend a visit in the evenings at 22-23 when all installations and the gallery are open!
Media Facades Helsinki is a partner festival of the Helsinki Festival and is realized within the international Connecting Cities Network which develops an infrastructure for urban media art in collaboration between 11 cities.

Fish-Go-Round (Shinji Kanki, Wannabe ballerinas) – surround-sound piece for radio signals, Lasipalatsi tower and dancers. LIVE performance only on the opening night 21.8. at 22!
