Networked City 2013 Workshop and Conference

Back

6 - 8 February 2013
Maison de la Région, Marseille, France

Hosted by Videospread in the frame of ECoC Marseille-Provence 2013.
In Marseille the CCN curators met with the artists whom they had collectively selected for the Networked City Events 2013: The Constitute / Ready to Cloud! – Kristaps Ancans / Meeting Europe – Pippo Lionni / The Village – Sander Veenhof / WeTube – Joan Mora & José M. Blanco / The Puppet Master – Victor Dìaz & Sergio Galàn / TransEurope Slow – Hideaki Ogawa / Monsters – Orkan Telhan & Mahir Yavuz / United Colors of Dissent – Jeremy Bailey / Master-Slave Invigilator System – Mar Canet & Varvara Guljajeva / Binoculars – Akseli Virtanen & Julio Lucio / Robin Hood – Herman Kolgen / Le Souffle.

An intensive speed dating session between curators and artists helped to go deeper into the central question of how to connect the cities via urban media facades by including the local neighbourhoods?

The public part of the conference included presentations by Florent Aziosmanoff (Le Cube, Issy les Moulineaux) and Jérôme Delormas (La Gaîeté Lyrique, Paris) as well as a panel on topic of the European Capitals of Cultures with participation of Ulrich Fuchs (artistic director of Marseille-Provence 2013) and Diana Civle (artistic director of Riga 2014).

We were also invited to participate in the 21st edition of Pecha Kucha Marseille. You can watch the performances of Public Art Lab Berlin, Amber Platform Istanbul and Aarhus University here.
