Networked City 2013: Final Artists’ Selection!

Back

We had an overwhelming feedback on the calls for our first project period Networked City 2013 which made the selection process a tough business. Thanks a lot to all the artists who submitted their projects!

A pre-selection was done in a collaborative process by the curators of the Connecting Cities Network during the Media Architecture Biennale in November 2012 and was finalised in January 2013. Since we are curating as a network the process is very special: Instead of having a central curation board deciding on all the projects to be produced, we have one curator in each participating city who selects at least one artist to be produced locally for the Networked City 2013.

So, which Connecting Cities partner will produce which artist and which project?

Our next step will be the curators’ and artists’ workshop in Marseille from February 6th-8th. During the workshop we will decide on the timing for the Networked City Events 2013 where the produced artworks will be circulating in the participating cities. More information coming during the next months!

Again, we want to thank again all the artists for submitting their exciting projects! It is a pity that we could only select so few projects and we want to encourage all of you to submit projects to our future calls: Participatory City 2014 and Visible City 2015.
